The library building was made possible by the gift of Horatio E. Baker and Ruth A. Baker in appreciation of the many acts of kindness shown to them by the people of Peru and is dedicated to the inhabitants of Peru.  

While most of our operating costs are supported by taxpayers in the Town of Peru, donations have allowed the library to continually improve programs, update collections, maintain a safe and comfortable facility, meet the increased technological needs of the community, and ensure accessibility for all. If you would like to support the library, we accept donations via cash, check and PayPal. Cash and checks are accepted during library hours. Checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 96, Peru, NY 12972 and made payable to Peru Free Library.
